    Copenhagen’s new city sections – Ørestad and Nordhavnen – are benchmark examples of how the big cities of the world may expand in responsible ways. That is the message of a substantial article in the New York Times – so the paper once again spotlights the urban development in Copenhagen.

    FACTS ON ØRESTAD

    Ørestad will be developed over the next 20 years, and covers an area of more than three miles (five kilometres) from the border of the City of Copenhagen to the Kalvebod Fælled nature reserve.The width of Ørestad is approx. 650 yards (600 metres). When fully developed Ørestad will have 20.000 inhabitants and 80.000 jobs.
